Born in Montevideo, Uruguay on 5th Oct 1969.
Began his studies of audio visual media in 1990.
In 1996 receives a bursary to study production and direction of television drama at the
Spanish national TV channel, TVE.
In-house director at Tevé Ciudad, the Montevideo community cable TV channel from 1998 to the present.
Has directed various series: Niños de la calle (Street Kids), Menores infractores, (Young Delinquents) Vivir en Rojo (Living on the Edge). This series was awarded the Best Documentary Series Award in 2001. (The Tabaré Awards)
Aldo Garay was named Best Uruguayan Television Director for the year 2001. (The Tabaré Awards).
